As one of the UK’s largest universities, with a wide
range of high-quality and well-respected courses, we have the facilities
and resources to match. The recently built £13 million Nottingham Trent
University Boots Library is supported by a 24-hour computing
facility and a language laboratory. Special welfare units are on hand to
advise and help with any problems, while your social life is admirably
catered for by the sports, clubs and entertainment offered by the Union of
Students. Our accommodation is high quality,
secure and centrally located. With the opportunity for students to work or
study overseas, the world really is your oyster here at Nottingham Trent.
History
Nottingham is a vibrant, lively student city, which is
renowned for its student nightlife, sports arts and music. It covers a
comprehensive range of shops, services and entertainment all within a
short walking distance. Some of the places you may wish to include in your
walk around the city are the Victoria Shopping Centre, the Old Market
Square and Pelham Street leading towards the Hockley area with its trendy
shops. To reach the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre from the Market Square
there are a choice of routes via Wheeler Gate or Bridlesmithgate. These
can be found at either end of the Square. Both roads offer a range of
shops and eating places en route to the shopping centre.
Much of Nottingham’s café society is located in the Lace Market next to
Hockley, which is also known for its night-clubs, and the Canal Wharf area
behind the Broadmarsh Centre.
If you still have time to fill, have a quick trip to see
Robin Hood’s statue by Nottingham Castle, passing Ye Olde Trip to
Jerusalem, reputed to be the oldest Inn in the country and built into the
castle rock and the cave network.
