The
WEATHER in the UK is very varied. It
is rarely either extremely cold or extremely hot, but anything in between
can be experienced at any season of the year. You will notice if you are
travelling around the UK that regional difference are quite marked, despite
the country’s small size. The weather is one of our most popular topics of
conversation and weather forecasts are checked regularly. Weather forecast
follow the news bulletins on the television and radio and can also be
found in newspapers and by telephoning 0870 510 0876 (national forecast)
or by visiting the BBC’s online weather forecast at
http://bbc.co.uk/weather. Many
visitors are surprised to find how rapid the changes in weather can be. A
warm and sunny morning can be followed by a cold, wet and windy afternoon.
If in doubt, carry an umbrella and a spare jumper!
